Assets Overview

Super Admins can import and manage ChromeOS Devices from Google Workspace. You can also add custom assets to support items outside of Google Workspace.

To get started:

  1. Log in to Admin+.
  2. Click on the Assets card on the main page or left navigation menu to go to the Asset page.
    • The Asset page offers a quick way to see an Asset Tag, Serial Number, Type, and Assigned User.
  1. Clicking on an asset will show the Assets Details, Recent Activity, and Recent Users.
    • The table can be filtered to temporarily hide some of the data, so you can focus on what you want to see. Additional data columns can be added from the top right if you want to see more information.
  1. Above the Asset table, you'll see a few options:
    • Export to Sheets - This will export the asset data into a Google Sheet.
    • Re-Sync Google Workspace ChromeOS Devices - This will import ChromeOS Devices from Google Workspace.
    • +New Asset - This will add an asset that is not in Google Workspace.

Most admins will use Re-Sync Google Workspace ChromeOS Devices to pull in the devices from Google Workspace.

    • Note: The Re-Sync process can take a few minutes to run depending on the size and number of devices in Google Workspace, but usually takes less than a minute to complete.

Once an asset has been added (either via Re-Sync or manually using the +New Asset option), an action can be run against the asset. User and Asset actions are include:

    • Assign/Unassign User - This allows users in Google Workspace to be assigned or unassigned to an asset.
    • Delete Asset - This will remove the asset from the page.
    • Restore Asset - This will restore a deleted asset.

ChromeOS Devices also have a list of specific actions. The device must be in Kiosk Mode and/or a managed guest session to perform these actions:

    • Reboot - This will restart the ChromeOS.
    • Take a Screenshot - This will take a screenshot to capture the device's screen in that moment.
    • Set Volume - This will set the volume level of the device; a numeric value is required.
    • Wipe User Profiles - This will wipe all user profiles, including profile data, from the device. The device policy and enrollment status will stay the same.
