Workflow Conditionals
Workflow+ Subscriptions can use conditional logic. Conditionals are used to set specific requirements that must be met before a workflow will run. Multiple conditional options can be configured together using ‘AND/OR‘ statements, and Workflow+ makes these easy to set up.
Conditionals can be joined using ‘AND/OR‘ statements.
- ‘AND‘ will require the data to meet all conditions.
- ‘OR’ will require the data to meet only one condition.
Let’s go over the basics of the Conditional Window. This window contains the fields required for a conditional to be set. It consists of a Parameter, a Property, an Operator, and an Operator Value.
Below the fields are two icons:
The Add Conditional to Group icon allows you to create a group of conditions using ‘AND/OR’ statements (see Example 3).
The Trash Can icon will remove and delete the condition.
Here are a few examples to demonstrate common uses for conditionals.
Example 1
A single conditional tells this workflow to run only for users within an Organizational Unit.
Example 2
A second conditional is added using OR so this workflow can run for either Organization Unit.
Example 3
A third conditional is added, and the Add Conditional to a Group option is used to specify which conditions to join using ‘AND/OR‘.
Now we have a conditional that will run a workflow for any users belonging to the Student Group in either Organization Unit.
