Creating a Bucket

Why Creating a Bucket is Useful

Buckets are basically containers that store your data. You can use buckets to organize and control access to your data and enable the bucket for the storage report in Admin+.

Creating a Bucket for Enabling Google Cloud Storage:

  1. Log in to Google Cloud Platform.
  2. Go to the left navigation menu, scroll down to the Storage section, and hover over Cloud Storage.
  3. Choose Buckets.
  4. Create a New Bucket.
  5. Go through each section and choose the setting that best fits your organization.
  6. Hit Create to save choices.
  7. Return back to the Browser page.
  8. Click on the three dots on the right of the screen.
    1. Select Edit bucket permissions.
    2. Select Add Member.
      1. Storage Objective Viewer - allows members to read objects stored in a bucket.
      2. Storage Object Admin - allows members full control of objects in the bucket (but not control of the bucket itself).
      3. All users sending files will need to have write access.
